What comes to your mind when someone asks you to talk about your 2.0 version? Often! a difficult question to answer when you have lots of things going on in your mind. We found Vikas in the same situation when we asked him about his 2.0 version. “It’s a great idea to dive deep into your thoughts to know what you want in your life!” he mentioned.

Meet our entrepreneur of the week, Vikas Shashikant Vasav. A Digital Marketer, Content Creator, PR Expert, Branding Consultant, and the list of what he does in the sales & marketing field goes on.

Raised by a single mother, Vikas was a below-average student in school. He stood last in his 10th class in his school. However, he was very good at sports especially playing Cricket. Somehow, he managed to complete his Bachelors in Commerce and started working in Call Centers. However, he always aspired to become an Entrepreneur.

Vikas comes with vast experience in Sales & Marketing and Customer Success. He started his career with Customer Success and moved into IT Sales & Marketing. However, he always felt incomplete, not because of less salary or lack of growth. He always wanted to start something of his own. The happiness of cracking the first client for your own business is more, than meeting your monthly target when you are an employee, he said. In late 2019, when the world was unaware of the pandemic that was about to hit, Vikas was engaged in devising a strategy to start his Digital Marketing Agency. After failing in a few businesses that he started, Vikas started working as a Sr. IT Sales Executive. Then in early 2020, the world was hit by a global pandemic.

In the initial lockdown phase, he enjoyed quality time with his family. And his dream to start his digital marketing agency faded just like any other dream that you may forget once you wake up. Passing the time watching YouTube, he just spent days. Until the day when he saw a video of Denzel Washington giving a short speech at the NAACP Image Awards function. One statement that struck him hard — “Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.” That day he realized that he has got into an incorrect mode of life.

He decided to work on his dream project to start his digital marketing agency. However, acquiring the domain knowledge was crucial than just starting a business and eventually failing. He went through lots of content over the internet and spent a lot of money buying paid courses to enhance his knowledge. But few months down the line, he was just not satisfied with whatever he learned. Though he started his business and persuaded few clients, things were not working as he anticipated. After following Digital Deepak for a while, Vikas decided to enroll himself in the Digital Deepak Internship Program. That was the turning point of his career in Digital Marketing.

Things started working as he thought. He started giving great results to his clients. After that, he never looked back. Today he is the founder & CEO of one of the Leading Digital Marketing Agencies in India. They work closely with international clients who have a net worth of at least a few million dollars. Recently they bagged a big contract. Agency is expecting to hit the revenue target of 20 million in this quarter. He is very optimistic about the new project and said, soon India will be the digital marketing hub & all the countries would like to be associated with us. He was named as a “CEO of the Year” in 2022. In the same year, they got nominated for “Agency of the year” awards.

When asked about what he feels about the immense success he has achieved in his field? He spoke about the turnaround that happened after the Digital Deepak Internship Program. No doubt that self-learning is good. But you’ll need a mentor who will drive you with his positive approach and will put you in discomfort by assigning various tasks. It will help you to develop your skills faster than anything else. He always believes that small steps towards success are better than long leaps. With this note, he ended the conversation with us.

I hope you find this interview inspiring. We will be talking to many inspiring personalities like him.
